Between January and March 2025 I had the honour of being selected for a mobility project supported by Culture Moves Europe. During this wonderful time I had the opportunity to explore the city of Barcelona wich I already knew, from a new point of view, delving especially into social, historical and architectural aspects of the Poble – sec neighborhood. Thanks to the intense collaboration I had with my international partner Elisa Olivé Elias of EO arquitectura and Angels Gomez of Cerhisec, we first made a strategic plan to map the area, the shops, the buildings and people carrying out interesting and curious activities. Then after verifying my technical and artistic needs we made an ad-hoc selection of the photos I would take. I took a series of photographs of the urban landscape to contextualise the project, others of shops and studios that are part of the neighbourhood's history, and finally some portraits of peculiar artists and craftsmen. The technique that I used for my photographs, known as staged-photography, is very complex and meticulous both in the stage of scenographic preparation and technical realisation. In spite of this, every single shot was completed with great satisfaction, thanks mainly to the helpfulness of the people who lent themselves to be part of the project.
